The bookstore
We aim to please people who really like books. Not just the reading of books, but the physical book as well.
Our stock is carefully selected and features unusual examples of titles you either already love or someday might. We carry reading copies as well as signed, illustrated, and first editions. Books you can’t just find everywhere else.
Specialties include fiction, photography, science fiction and fantasy, art, children’s, and scholarly books.

Kid Hermes the Trickster will host six photography (mostly) and art exhibitions each year, featuring artists from around the globe as well as local artists.

We’re on Taylor right between 10th and 11th Streets, across from the south side of the Central Library.

WE WILL BE CLOSED FROM APRIL 1 – 12 FOR A BOOK-BUYING TRIP.
We are intentionally a brick-and-mortar store where your actual hands can hold actual books. We do not sell online. We want people to be able to come in and see the books they might want to buy. And to handle the books they can’t afford to buy—yet. We also welcome installment payments.
